Feminine Looks and Sporty Shoes

Sneakers are a part of my DNA. I’ve always been the tallest one in the room, so flat shoes, especially sneakers, kept me feeling like I fit in. These days, I have no issues with being tall, but sneakers are still on my feet – especially a versatile pair of sneaker-boots from Timberland. Nowadays, I wear them a little differently, pairing them with more feminine items like skirts and dresses. That’s the great thing about sneakers like the pairs featured here… they work with nearly anything.

I love to feel feminine, but never do I want to look or feel too “done up.” You’d find maybe one or two pairs of heels higher than 3 or 4 inches on my shoe shelf… and my feet have been thanking me greatly for valuing comfort rather than a high heel – they are especially happy lately as I’ve been trying and styling the Mayliss 6-Inch and the Killington Chukka from Timberland.

Sneakers are my best friend, particularly ones like the Mayliss 6-Inch, a comfortable, sporty take on the high-top. I paired these with a black and metallic dotted dress for a playful look that is the perfect combination of casual and dressy for an ideal day-to-night transitional look.

The Killington Chukka mixes flexibility and style – making these a very versatile pair of shoes. I dressed them with a denim mini for a carefree, dressed-down look that is perfect for walking around town on a warm day.

From the days of the past when I wanted to feel “not so tall,” to present day, when I want to be comfortable without sacrificing style, I’ve never been able to get enough of the sneaker style. These Timberland shoes let me have the best of both worlds – an active, comfortable shoe that can be complemented with feminine pieces for an overall chic look.
