People always say they want to get involved, but never do it. You build environmentalism and volunteerism into your life by showing up and by making little changes every day that eventually create a new routine.
In addition to her indoor plants, Summer Rayne is an active member of a community garden, helping manage a wildlife food forest, rain garden, and her own vegetable bed. She volunteers regularly there and at a neighboring senior center, helping maintain their chicken coop. She even has a rescue chicken named Kippee, which she picked up at the senior center, who accompanies her on her visits.
All season, we'll be featuring Heroes who've made a positive difference in the world - meet more Heroes here. Learn more about our commitment to the environment and our communities at our Responsibility Page.
