We’ve Been Swiping Right for 25 Years
These days people like to connect through dating apps. Swipe right if you like what you see, swipe left if you don't… But we’re Timberland, we don’t need apps, we've been connecting to our employees, our consumers and our communities through volunteering for the past 25 years. How do we do it? Each employee gets up to 40 hours of paid time off every year to volunteer, in any way they would like. Pretty cool, right?!
Timberland | 25 Years of Path of Service
This year we're celebrating the 25th anniversary of our Path of Service program, but this is only the beginning. After all, we are long-term relationship oriented.
"At Timberland, service is a way of life – we've done a lot in 25 years, but we're just getting started," said Jim Pisani, president of Timberland. "Through the service events and activities this season, we will not only add value to communities around the world, but we will also provide meaningful leadership and development opportunities for our employees and build strong business relationships."
SKIPPING WORK TO DO GOOD
Since 1992, we've been leaving the office to paint, plant, rebuild, clean, green…whatever needs to get done.
We're passionate about preserving our planet. You might even say we're down to earth. Since 2001 we've planted over 9,200,000 in places like China's Horqin desert, Haiti, NYC and across Europe. Our hope is to reach over 10 million trees planted by 2020!
Sometimes our volunteer efforts take us into disaster zones. We’ve sent employees to help after Hurricane Katrina, the Haiti earthquake, the Japanese earthquake and tsunami, Hurricane Sandy, the Colorado floods and more. We’ve also framed houses in our NH parking lot and shipped them to US families who lost their homes in tornadoes.
We like to play dirty, guilt-free. That's why we're working to green urban areas all over the world. So far we’ve created over 32,000 square feet of urban green space since 2016. And, we even have an organic garden at our HQ and we donate the proceeds from our harvest to a local food bank.
